Meet Saoirse!

I first met Saoirse at my middle son’s piano recital. They both take lessons from my sister-in-law, Elizabeth. You can see her family session here

Saoirse’s parent’s wanted their family images done, and also a session to capture some senior portraits! When I met with Saoirse’s parents at their home, it was obvious that we needed to do both sessions there at sunset. Their property is absolutely stunning, and the lighting there was dreamy. You can see Saoirse’s family session here.

Saoirse asked for a few gowns from my closet, and I am so pleased with the ones she’s chosen!

Saoirse, the lights, and the gowns made for such a gorgeous session!

Here are a few of Saoirse’s favorite images!

Happy 2021!

We have a lot to get caught up on!
First I will introduce you to the wonderful Kille Family! I have been so blessed to be their family photographer!

I did their sons 6 month images, which you can view here.

We had scheduled to do their family session and their sons first birthday session WAY back in October! But with the shut downs, and the all the smoky air from the forest fires, we ended up doing both sessions in one at their house!

Happy New Year Friends!

This is a fun personal post for you today!

As many of you know, we lost our precious Green Cheek Conure, Lemon, a few months ago.  So I would like to introduce to you my new baby, Betty June. She is also a Green Cheek Conure, but a pineapple variety. She is uniquely very yellow for this variety.

Betty is named after both grandmas Betty’s that made an impact on my life, and she has my Grandma Betty’s middle name.

Baby Betty June is about 8 weeks old, and LOVES car rides! She comes with me to take Benjamin to school in the mornings.

She also loves to sit in her window seat, and chat with our backyard birds. She has water and snacks, it’s like dinner and a show!

Uncategorized Photography

Since Betty is so little still, she naps several times a day. Her favorite is to snuggle up in sweaters or behind my ear.

Betty is also quite mischievous! She likes to play peek a boo, and snuggle up in my hair.

Betty also loves pocket rides, and likes to be a part of EVERYTHING that is happening.

The jars behind us are all of her foods… three kinds of pellets, nutriberries, seeds, nuts, and such. She also loves apples!

Cat doesn’t mind the birds, but has just realized that there was a second bird in the house!

Betty is a VERY sweet bird. She loves to be on me at all times, and loves to snuggle.

Do you have any unique pets?

Welcome to Victor’s newborn session!

When I received the text that Victor was arriving, I was so excited! His mama, Heidi, is one of my dearest friends. You can find her beautiful maternity session HERE.

After Victor’s newborn session, I asked Heidi some questions about Victor’s name, and how older brother took the news of his new promotion to big brother, and other details. This is what Heidi had to say!

Why did you decide on the name you chose?

We decided to name our son, Victor Antil. Victor is my step dad’s middle name, and Antil is my husband’s Father’s middle name, Andres in the Myan dialect.

Nixon calls Victor baby Blueberry because early on in my pregnancy he wanted to know how big the baby was and I said the size of a blueberry so he became baby Blueberry.

How did you find our you were expecting?

I took at least 20 pregnancy tests. We took a blood test for the gender and it came back inconclusive so we had to wait for the ultrasound.

We put the gender in a cupcake and had the kids bite into the cupcakes to reveal the gender. We all  Thought that the baby was a girl so we where all in shock with another BOY!!

Nixon was very upset he wanted a sister.

Still to this day he says remember I wanted blueberry to be a girl but he is a boy.

When and how did you tell your kids you were expecting a new addition? :

We told our kids and family on Christmas day.  We had Nixon open a present with a big brother shirt inside with Ultrasound pictures in front of his older siblings that are 17,21 and 22 yrs old.

How did your birth story go?

Victor was 6 weeks early and I had to have an emergency c section. The whole experience was very traumatic. I only got to see Victor for a second before he was taken to the NICU but I was instantly in love.

What are your favorite baby details?

I don’t really have favorite baby details. I just love my little. He is such a sweet baby.

He loves to cuddle and be wrapped up.

He does not really cry just makes little grunting noises when he is hungry.

Hello friends! Welcome to Hazel Marie’s Newborn Baby Photoshoot!

Her mama is a good friend of mine, and also my youngest child’s teacher! So when she messaged me about baby photos, I was thrilled! I am so blessed to be a Vancouver, WA Newborn Photographer, and be able to work with my friends on these joyous occasions!

When a mama inquires about baby images, I always ask if she as a specific color or theme in mind for her newborn shoot. I also ask if the parents are interested in being an active part in their session as well. I am SO glad that these two did! What a beautiful family photo!

When parents meet with me to discuss their newborn session, I always want to know if they have any colors scheme or style in mind. Often times the parents want the baby images to match the nursery, so they can use their cute baby pictures for décor.

In my Vancouver, WA Newborn Photographer studio, I have many colors and styles to accommodate whatever each parent is looking for.

Hazel’s mama wanted purples, greens and pinks for their session. I was able to accommodate and create some unique backdrops by using my Intuition Floor Drops to create beautiful baby images for Hazel’s parents.

Danny and Jade – Vancouver, WA Family Photographer

Hi friends! Meet Danny and Jade! I am so blessed to be their family portrait photographer!

I met Danny and Jade a few years ago when our house flooded. We had a hot water pipe under our house burst during the hottest part of the year, and steamed out the entire crawl space. The water wicked up through the hardwood floors in the house, and most of our home needed to be remodeled. Danny and his team came in and gave us a fresh new kitchen, new hardwood floors, new doors, trim and paint!. They moved all of our things out of the house, and when it was time for us to move back in they brought all of our furniture back in for us! Find Danny’s business HERE.

After all the work Danny had put in, and all the extra hours he spent trying to get us back in to our home I really wanted to bless them with images. I noticed that Jade didn’t seem to have many professional images of her family, and I knew I could remedy that. See Jade’s Mommy and Me Session HERE. Isn’t she stunning?

For this particular year, Jade wanted to make the family portrait photos a little more special. It was their 10 year wedding anniversary, and she wanted to have her images taken at the same place her wedding was. So we went down to the gorgeous Port of Camas Washougal, and planned out her session. She knew she wanted some darker and more contrast colors for her session, so she went with greys and blacks.

Jade wanted her session just before sunset, so we could capture some fun family images and then do a couples session in the water for their anniversary. I love how fun Danny and Jade are! They brought their nerf guns to the session! I hope more families choose to do things like this in the future! It makes for a fun time, and some really cool images!

After the professional family portraits were complete, we got Danny and Jade in the water for their romantic sunset images. I love that they both were willing to get in the water and venture out far enough to get some really good deep water shots.

Enjoy Danny and Jade’s Family and 10 Year Anniversary Session!

Joshua and Elizabeth – Vancouver, WA Family Photographer

Joshua and Elizabeth – Vancouver, WA Family Photographer

Joshua and Elizabeth – Vancouver, WA Family Photographer

Hello friends! Meet Joshua and Elizabeth!

I am sure that many of you reading already know this extraordinary couple. But for those of you who don’t, I’ll give you a little backstory.

Elizabeth is my sweet sister-in-law, her husband Joshua is the younger brother of my husband. Elizabeth is also my middle son’s piano instructor. She owns a music studio in her Camas, WA home. Visit Elizabeth’s Music Studio for more information on getting your child set up with quality piano instruction. Also, my son teaches piano under her watch.. so he’s available as well.

Joshua and Elizabeth are always up for unique professional family portraits, and it is such fun to work with them!

For their family portrait photos, found HERE, they decided they wanted an elegant look in front of a waterfall. When we met to discuss their session, we decided that Shepperds Dell Falls, would be a perfect place for their session.

We generally do a Couples Session, and thought that the falls would be perfect as well and would tie in nicely with their family session if they chose to incorporate both sessions in a wall display or album.

Elizabeth chose a simple, yet sexy bathing suit for her couples session. Her favorite color is purple, and this dark plummy suit gave her a little bit of a Snow White feel with her porcelain skin tone. The darker suit against her lighter skin also pops her beautiful ice blue eyes. She chose a set of darker trunks for Joshua, as to not be too distracting from the backdrop, or themselves. I especially love how Elizabeth’s hair is purple on the ends, which ties in beautifully with her purple suit.

I highly recommend that each couple, no matter what stage in their relationship they are in, invest in a couples session. It is during these types of sessions where I encourage couples to focus on each other, and not the camera. That way I am able to capture their authentic looks to each other, and their honest reactions.

I hope you enjoy Joshua and Elizabeth’s Couples Session at Shepperds Dell Falls in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.

Contact me HERE to book your perfect couples session today.

Rodger Family – Everett Washington Family Photographer

Hello friends!

Meet the Rodger family! This beautiful creature is my sweet friend Melanie.

We met in person for the very first time during her family session! Melanie volunteers for the same non profit organization I do, Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.

Melanie is the area coordinator for the Seattle area. You can click on the link to read  Melanie’s story and her journey with NILMDTS.

Melanie and I had scheduled her large family photos as a  family beach photography session at Longbeach in June, but due to Covid her inlaws were unable to make the trip to the Coast here. And as much as we wanted to do a beach portrait session with just her little family, that weekend the coast wind was howling. We decided to postpone. It was then I realized that the following weekend I would be up in the Seattle area visiting my sister and doing other professional family portraits, so why not have her family join us!

It worked out so beautifully! The day was HOT! But by the evening the temperature had cooled off to a tolerable degree.

Uncategorized Photography

Melanie chose a combination of dark and rich colors, and lighter and airy colors  for her family portrait photos. Perfect for an end of summer and beginning of fall feeling!

We met at my sister’s house, and walked down to the end of her road to a private open field. The lighting was perfect, peeking through the trees and giving us that warm and lovely end of summer glow, perfect for family photos.

Her little fella loved romping in the tall grass, making cheesy faces, and looking for the “butterfly” in my lens… which is the iris opening and closing. That always seems to capture the tiny humans attention.

Our session took less than an hour, and was full of giggles and fun!

Photographing families is a joy for me, especially when it is a fellow NILMDTS volunteer.

I added this image as surprise for Melanie.

Although these types of image have been around for a while now, this was the first time I had done a “shadow image”.

I felt like The Rodger Family should have a complete image as the true Family of Four that they are.
