Happy New Year Friends!

This is a fun personal post for you today!

As many of you know, we lost our precious Green Cheek Conure, Lemon, a few months ago.  So I would like to introduce to you my new baby, Betty June. She is also a Green Cheek Conure, but a pineapple variety. She is uniquely very yellow for this variety.

Betty is named after both grandmas Betty’s that made an impact on my life, and she has my Grandma Betty’s middle name.

Baby Betty June is about 8 weeks old, and LOVES car rides! She comes with me to take Benjamin to school in the mornings.

She also loves to sit in her window seat, and chat with our backyard birds. She has water and snacks, it’s like dinner and a show!

Since Betty is so little still, she naps several times a day. Her favorite is to snuggle up in sweaters or behind my ear.

Betty is also quite mischievous! She likes to play peek a boo, and snuggle up in my hair.

Betty also loves pocket rides, and likes to be a part of EVERYTHING that is happening.

The jars behind us are all of her foods… three kinds of pellets, nutriberries, seeds, nuts, and such. She also loves apples!

Cat doesn’t mind the birds, but has just realized that there was a second bird in the house!

Betty is a VERY sweet bird. She loves to be on me at all times, and loves to snuggle.

Do you have any unique pets?

  1. She is such a precious and beautiful bird! We don’t have any unique or exotic pets now, but throughout childhood my family has had a menagerie of critters including birds (I loved our finches!), rats, a rabbit, hedgehogs, snakes, lizards, spiders, scorpions and more. My mom is a bird whisperer and always seemed to be the one the birds claimed as their human. ❤️ The cockatoo, the conure and the quaker parrot all claimed my mom as their human and felt it their duty to defend her from anyone else. Our critters now are just two cats, two fish and a dog.
